Predator Catcher is a 5.63-inch multi-jointed swimbait in a natural shad / herring pattern – holographic silver flanks with blue-green back, yellow lateral stripe and a translucent gold tail. It mimics the shad, herring, alewife and menhaden that striped bass, largemouth bass, pike and inshore saltwater predators chase in open water, which makes it the most universal color in the INNOTAK line. The segmented ABS body is joined with heavy-duty flexible fabric and swims with a smooth S-shaped action on a slow retrieve, flashing on every turn like a schooling baitfish. Sold as a single lure.
Key features
- Shad color for open water and saltwater – holographic silver flash imitates shad, herring and menhaden; the first pick for striped bass, schooling bass and inshore species like redfish, snook and speckled trout.
- Realistic S-shaped swimming action – multi-segment body with flexible fabric joints moves like a live baitfish on a straight retrieve, twitch or stop-and-go.
- New open-mouth head design – pushes water for improved underwater movement and stronger vibration that predators track from a distance.
- Long-cast weight system – built-in steel gravity balls add casting distance and a subtle rattle; the lure weighs 1.02 oz (29 g).
- 2 ultra-sharp Mustad treble hooks on strong split rings for solid hooksets.
- 3D holographic eyes and detailed scale pattern on a durable ABS body – made for freshwater and saltwater.
Target species
Striped bass, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, musky, walleye, redfish, snook, speckled trout, bluefish and other predators that feed on shad, herring and menhaden.
How to fish it
- Slow steady retrieve through schooling bait, along current seams and over open flats – the most natural presentation.
- Twitch and pause – the lure flashes and glides on the pause, triggering following fish.
- Burn and kill – a few fast turns, then stop; ideal for reaction strikes from stripers, pike and bluefish.
- Use a steel or heavy fluorocarbon leader for toothy species to protect your line.

Frequently asked questions
Is Predator Catcher floating or sinking?
Slow sinking. Count it down to reach suspended fish or start the retrieve right away to fish the upper water column.
When should I choose the shad color?
Whenever predators are feeding on silver baitfish – shad, herring, alewife, menhaden – in open water, in clear to lightly stained conditions, and for any saltwater inshore or surf fishing. If you buy only one INNOTAK color, this is the most versatile.
Does it come with a leader or box?
No – this is the single lure. The INNOTAK 3-pack includes three colors, three steel leaders and a tackle box. Other single colors: Alligator Harry, Bass Hunter (perch), Bloody Harry (brown trout), Head Hunter (bluegill) and Tricky Snake (rainbow trout).
What rod and line should I use?
A medium to medium-heavy spinning or casting rod with 12–20 lb line (or 20–30 lb braid) handles a 1 oz swimbait comfortably. Rinse hooks and split rings with fresh water after saltwater use.
